This young doctor has training in par with great Ophthalmologists of the World in Europe and USA. While studying, she has won a number of awards including the Rukmani Gold Medal for the best undergraduate student in ophthalmology in 1980 and the Dr. G.R. Bodiwala Gold Medal for best Post Graduate student in M.S (Ophthalmalogy ) from the Gujarat University. She was the recipient of the Pratham Tath Patra Award in 1990 from the Government of Rajasthan for exemplary work in the field of Medicine and Ophthalmology. She has conducted a number of programmes on Doordarshan and on the Sri Lanka Network in Ophthalmology.
